Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications (CAC)

The Corporate Affairs & Communications team is responsible for managing corporate affairs, branding and reputation, and all internal and external communications. It is GIC’s interface with key stakeholders, including the general public, media and employees.


We are looking for a mid-career communications professional with at least a decade’s experience to join the Corporate Affairs and Communications team at GIC. This person will oversee all communications activities across our Europe operations, working out of the London office.  This person will report to the MD of Corporate Communications and a dotted reporting line to the President of Europe.   There will be many challenging external and internal organizational projects, alongside generous learning and development opportunities. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent functional skills, a good grasp of the asset management industry, great stakeholder management and sound judgment. You will be part of a high performing team while operating with autonomy and trust to get the work done.


The GIC London office covers GIC’s investing activities across Europe, Middle East and Africa. We are invested across multiple asset classes including public equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity and infrastructure.   You will be partnering the investment teams in these asset classes to design communications that will add value to the business.  In addition, you will be working to increase awareness of GIC’s point of view on topics such as DE&I and sustainability both externally and internally, in alignment with our global narrative. 


This person needs to:

  • Have a minimum of 10 years of communications and corporate affairs experience. The person also is expected to have good references to show
  • Oversee a full-range of communications, including investment communications, media relations, thought leadership, public affairs and government relations, employee communications and social impact, for Europe
  • Implement communications strategies that are aligned with global corporate communications priorities and aimed at enabling key stakeholders to know and understand GIC
  • Be excited to set the foundation and grow GIC’s communications function for Europe
  • Be a trusted advisor to President, Europe and other regional leaders on communications strategy and execution
  • Balance working and making decisions independently with being aligned with the global team. Able to draft news releases, cultivate and sustain media relationships, conceptualize editorial and marketing content and events, design and run employee activities to support employee engagement, and lead or support social impact for Europe
  • Work with local event planners to plan events, seminars and conferences
  • Possess social media experience
  • Write well, speaks confidently, connects easily with stakeholders inside and outside GIC, and builds trust with both personality and professionalism
  • Project intellectual gravitas while being relatable
  • Manage one team member onsite and work closely with peers in across GIC offices to execute impactful communication programmes
  • Travel within Europe when needed and be prepared to spend time in Singapore a few times a year
